Peter Bothwell and Chris Lewis Take on 24-Hour Challenge to Support Inclusive Tennis

In an extraordinary test Peter Bothwell and Chris Lewis are set to play tennis continuously for 24 hours to raise funds and awareness for inclusive tennis programmes across the UK, in February 2026.

Peter, a former Davis Cup player, will be representing Northern Ireland, rallying support for local disability and inclusion initiatives. Meanwhile, Chris, one of Wales’ leading tennis coaches, will be raising funds for programmes that provide free weekly tennis sessions to people with disabilities across Wales.

The pair will take to the courts at the National Tennis Centre for the 24 hour tennis marathon challenge — rallying their way through the night — all in support of our I Play 30 programme, which provides free tennis sessions for people with disabilities and special educational needs.

They won’t be alone for long. Throughout the 24 hours, a host of British tennis stars past and present will join them, and fundraising teams from schools and clubs, on court to show their support and share in the challenge.

Funds raised will go towards expanding inclusive tennis opportunities in Northern Ireland and Wales, providing specialised equipment, coaching and training for volunteers to deliver sessions that make tennis accessible for all.

The I Play 30 programme currently supports over 160 venues that run inclusive sessions every week.

Those wishing to support Peter and Chris can donate or follow their progress here.
