It has been announced that there will be two GB flag bearers at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Bright Ideas for Tennis Trustee Lucy Shuker, who will be competing in her 5th Paralympic Games, will lead the GB team at the opening ceremony alongside wheelchair basketball player, Terry Bywater.

Lucy represented Team GB at the Paralympics in the 2008 Beijing Games, the went on to claim her first medal at London 2012 where she won Bronze in the women’s doubles with Jordan Whiley. The pair then went on to win another bronze medal together in Rio and then a silver medal in Tokyo.

Lucy told the LTA, “To have that honour to lead Paralympics GB out is incredible and something that I never thought I would do. To qualify for my first Paralympics in Beijing was an achievement in itself – but to come to my fifth Paralympics and now be a flag bearer is a real dream come true.”
