Bright Ideas for Tennis Trustee, Lucy Shuker reached this year’s Australian Open women’s wheelchair semi-finals, losing out in a battle against eventual title winners, China’s Li Xiaohui and Wang Ziying 7-5, 6-1. It has been great to watch British wheelchair players competing in Melbourne with Alfie Hewett beating defending champion Tokito Oda to secure his 10th Grand Slam wheelchair singles title. He also claimed his 6th successive double title alongside Gordon Reid. Andy Lapthorne and his Dutch partner, Sam Schroder won the quad wheelchair doubles with a straight sets victory over the number one seeds, an 8th doubles title for Andy!
